Brents letter

Hello Family!

Before I say anything I am going to plead for packages because I only get mail twice every 6-8 weeks and packages would just mean the world to me ;)
Things to put in packages: Food that can be cooked in a microwave or in a pot, or twixes, reese´s or any other kind of milk chocolate. Really anything would be very much appreciated.
To my dismay I have discovered that meals with missionaries are very easy to forget about and I have gained a lot of sympathy for missionaries that are forgotten.
I love the members in our word, they have had a lot of difficulty with treco missionaries in the past but are now getting excited about the work since Elder Morgan and I have been here. Many are starting to come with us to lessons and slowly but surely give us more and more references. I love Missionary Work!!
Mom, I haven´t gotten a rain suit yet because the closest place to buy them is in Parral and that isn´t my sector so when it rains...I get wet :) I am going to Parral tomorrow so hopefully I will have time to go buy one.
Connor, you did embarrass Lindsay and I at mutual all the time, we usually didn´t say anything though because you are capable of making your own decisions, cut Holly some slack, it will always happen, it is a rule for younger siblings. This is a good time to practice patience. How is life Connor? I know your busy and it is tough to find time to write, just know that I love you and am honored to call you my little brother. I know that you will always try to uphold the family name and honor the gifts and talents that God has given you. I hope you have fun at scout camp!
Holly I am so proud of you for reading the Book of Mormon!! I read it for the first time when I was twelve too. It is an amazing book and literally contains the word of God. I didn´t understand that the first time, I hope you continue to read it and gain new insights every time. The Book of Mormon can be a source of comfort and strength as life becomes difficult for you in the next few years. Always remember to turn to the Lord and Mom and Dad as you have questions about the important decisions you will need to make. They will always have advice to share and it depends on our pride whether or not we accept it. This is something I struggled with when I was your age and throughout my teen years so please don´t waste your time thinking you know more than everybody else like I did because the Lord will just humble you and that is usually not the most fun in the world. I love you and am so proud of you. I am so privileged to have a little sister as amazing as you are, keep working hard!

I am personally grateful for the trust the Lord has put in me as one of his missionaries and I am working my hardest to make sure I am always worthy of the nametag I put on everyday. The adversary will always try to discourage you. On Saturday we had all of our investigators confirm that they would be at church the next day but something happened to every one of them that prevented them from coming. My companion and I were sad and could have given up especially after all of our other appointments didn´t produce much fruit either. It was 9:15 and we thought about just going in but we didn´t, we decided to try and find one of our investigators that hadn´t been home during our scheduled cita. We went over there and José was there and had us come in and astonished us by showing us the page of notes he had taken while reading 3 Nephi chapter 11. A very good lesson ensued about the importance of baptism and the spirit was definitely present and José said he would work hard to be worthy to be baptized. It was amazing and I am very grateful that we decided to continue working instead of giving up. I don´t know what would have happened if we hadn´t gone over to José´s house, maybe everything would have been the same, but I don´t have to worry about it because we chose to work instead of rest and I have no regrets because of it and I know I never will.

I love you all very much,

I am Elder Reed
