Brent with his new comp, Elder Barton

This last week has been crazy full of activities and experiences that were a lot of fun. The work was totally different this week because everyone in Chile was preparing for the 18 of Septiembre which is their independence day and everyone was going crazy because this year is the 200th anniversary so nobody has had school or work for a week. Needless to say there were a surplus of drunks in the street that all wanted to talk to americans and tell us how awesome Chile is. Are biggest worry was making sure that one of our investigators didn´t buckle under the pressure of going out and partying with his friends. We prayed a lot and called him everyday and everything went perfectly. José was able to be baptized yesterday and his confirmation is next week, but I am getting ahead of myself. On Friday one of the branches had their fiesta for the 18th and we invited all of our investigators to come so we had a party in the church building all day, ate a lot, played ping pong(in which I dominated, I am actually pretty good now), watched everyone dance the cueca, their national dance, and talked with our investigators. It was a lot of fun and hopefully some of our investigators were able to make some ties with some of the other members of the branch.
Then on Saturday we had another party in our branch, which we had also invited all of our other investigators to attend and we did the same thing as friday, except in the morning I made french toast for everybody.
Then on Sunday we had the baptism and everything went smoothly. I am really loving my new companion and the ability to speak and understand the people better. The Lord is truly blessing me in every facet of my life and I love seeing the change that comes about in the conversion process.
Daily routine.
Wake up, practice bagpipes, study, missionary work, lunch, missionary work come home plan, go to sleep repeat. hahaha
"Oh, thats what it means"(an understanding of something, a word, scripture)
Something that I loved gaining and understanding of was this one scripture in Mosiah 18 verse 5 I´m pretty sure, anyways it is this one scripture that says Alma after fleeing from king noah went and hid in a thicket of trees near the waters of mormon to be safe from the evil kings servants looking for him. I stopped reading and was like why does that information get to have it´s own verse?? and a lot of writing and like an hour later I came to a conclusion why. It is actually an awesome scripture that can be related to a lot of things but my thought pattern was based on our need to stand in holy places and remain hidden from the servants of satan and a lot more. I invite all of you to study that scripture and and gleen from it what is most powerful to you and then apply it into your life.
