Questions:
Inspiring story: hmmm...well, I will tell you Carla´s story. She came to Jheyson´s baptism all by herself, she is 13. Then she came to church the next day, and the next Sunday, and the next. She told the Bishop she wanted to be baptized. We had been trying to meet with her, but she fired us or told us she couldn´t, so we were so confused. Then, we finally just said Carla, if you want to be baptized you have to meet with us, and she was like ok yea! And we said we needed to meet her parents. So we went over to their piso, her father introduced himself as Helaman...we were like Helaman, umm where does that name come from...he is a member! He was born into the church and has a brother and madrid right now..Carla had no idea until that moment. Her mom is not a member, but really likes the lessons, her dad is so excited for Carla and is beginning to return to activity. It just amazes me that this 13 year old girl found the church on her own and went on her own, no one told her to...and she is now helping her dad return to activity and hopefully soon her mom join the church! They will be an eternal family!
How are your investigators doing: Ben and Carla are doing awesome! They are so excited to be baptized this weekend. Ben is from Uganda (speaks English) and Carla is from Bolivia. We are teaching a 10 year old and her 12 year old sister Karime and Diana, and they are getting baptized next week, they ask the most profound questions like...if Mary is Jesus´s mother in the flesh, who is the mother of Jesus´s spirit? Yea, and soooo many more ha ha. Siboney has a fecha for this weekend, but she is still not sure what to do because most of her family is catholic, so she feels bad and alone. But she is so awesome, I know the Lord will help clear her doubts. Mariela and Lidia :( they are sooo amazing, but we are waiting for them to be married, it is very hard to do that here. They want to be baptized, but right now they just have to wait for when they can be married. Raquel and Laleska are going to have fechas soon, they are awesome, so amazing! And Divine and Akim are waiting on an answer about Joseph Smith, but they have to show their faith more and really do their part to receive and answer. Those are our main investigators, I love them.
Favorite part about zone conference: wow, I don´t know, it was amazing though. Elder Teixeira and his wife are amazing. I learned so much and just was so motivated to be better and work even harder for my investigators and to find people to bring to the gospel! And of course President Hinckley is amazing as well, and I love listening to him speak to us. Elder Teixeira talked a lot about brining people to church, and how vital that is. And how if we connect them with our Heavenly Father, they will want to come to church, which is the Kingdom of God on earth right now. Pres. Hinckley talked about how what we do and who we are are inextricably connected. It was just an amazing zone conference, so amazing. But no mom, I did not make the sign, I did sing though with some other missionaries, so be happy. Oh, and no one told me beforehand, but as the ayudantes were conducting they announced the hymn, and that Hermana Lindsay Reed would be leading the hymn...I really don´t know how to lead...I was very suprised but got up and led the hymns all day ha ha.
More info about your comp: umm...I don´t know. She is awesome, I love her. She has lived in Madrid with her mom and siblings for 5 years. Her father passed away years ago. She is a really good teacher and I am learning so much from her. She played basketball in high school, so we are excited to beat the elders ha ha. She worked in a dentist office before her mission, but she does not want to do that her whole life. She hates mice and doesn´t like cats...um ha ha I don´t know what you want to know.
